Hi folks! Let me introduce myself. I’m Morgan Austerweil (as you probably guessed), and I finally worked up the nerve to start a blog. Huzzah! It’s been a goal in the back of my mind for years and I can’t wait to share my homebody life with you! This site will be a collection of thoughts and snapshots from my daily life (ie. the ups and downs of a twenty-something navigating adulthood).
As an introvert with reclusive tendencies (go figure!), I plan to get out and explore all that the world has to offer and connect with other dreamers, thinkers, and makers. I don’t know about you, but creating keeps me sane. Whether I’m embroidering, capturing candids on camera, or working on my personal prose project— creative outlets ground me.
As for the details…I’m 26 (for one more week!) and live with my husband Maxwell and fluffy mutt Dio in Sebastopol, California—a small(ish) farm town about an hour north of the Bay Area and 20 minutes from the coast. Not gonna lie, I live with my in-laws. California is expensive yal! It’s not always easy, and it’s far from ideal, but we are so grateful for their support as we work towards autonomy. Some other random facts about me— my mind is an encyclopedia when it comes to films and faces. I dare you to challenge me to an IMDB filmography knowledge duel! Tavi— our 1983 Mercedes 240D—is my daily driver. She’s an old buttercream brawd and likes to take things slow. Right now, it’s summer on the West Coast, so it’s river season! Max and I make our weekly Russian River escape a top priority. There is nothing more rejuvenating than a solid dose of Vitamin D and water therapy, am I right?! (I’m a cancer sun, pisces moon— so I LIVE for batheable bodies of water).
And guess what….I’m packing up and heading out on my first international trip across the pond in three weeks! On the itinerary— Barcelona, Seville, and Lisbon. I’m meeting up with my college roommate Justine for my first girls trip and I’m pretty stoked to explore Spain and Portugal. I’ll be posting about my love of moorish architecture, sustainable summer threads, and city guides once I return. Well, that’s enough for now. I’ll be sharing more of my quirks and life every week. Thanks for scrollin!
